At the Fraunhofer Institute for Factory Operation and Automation IFF, scientists are working on a prototype of a machine for harvesting cauliflower based on hyperspectral imaging. According to the researchers, the system, called VitaPanther, will be capable of harvesting cauliflower heads significantly faster than human pickers. It could also work at night.
